Barry Levine and Allison Krause in the fall of 1969, soon after meeting in their freshman year at Kent State.

Posing on a motorcyle in Buffalo, NY, Allison and Barry had already decided to transfer from Kent State in the winter of 1969.

Not long before the protests, Allison, Barry and a friend enjoy a spring day in Kent.
On campus, the friendly Guardsman known as Myers poses with a flower in his rife barrel.
As Allison and others watch, Myers is upbraided on May 3 for his friendly attitude by his commanding officer. According to records, Myers was one of the Guardsman who did not fire his rife on May 4.
Moments before the shooting, Allison can be seen in the tan jacket, watching the Guardsman from a distance with the others. Barry Levine in the dark coat is to her left.
After the shooting, Allison is carried on the stretcher toward the ambulance from the parking lot where she was shot.
The search for an ambulance that can take her continues. She was still alive at this point.
